Bringing Our Commitments to Life

The Cigna Group Foundation

The Cigna Group gives to communities in three primary ways—The Cigna Group Foundation, corporate giving, and employee giving and volunteerism. As a key pillar of our giving strategy, the Foundation provides grants to nonprofits focused on improving the health and vitality of people.

Employee Volunteerism

Our colleagues play a powerful role in creating change in their communities. Through hands-on and skills-based volunteering, our efforts add up to millions of dollars of value annually for the communities where we live, work, and play.

We are grateful for the support of The Cigna Group Foundation to help young people gain access to critical programs that will help them build healthy coping strategies to manage stress and trauma in a supportive, constructive environment. The mental and physical health of our nation's youth largely hinges on the village that surrounds them, and we are grateful that this partnership will allow us to expand that to more kids and teens across the nation.

Taking Steps to Create Lasting Change

Building healthier communities takes all of us. Every hour volunteered, every donation made, every ounce of kindness given–that's what creates better health for all.

Supporting Veteran Communities

Employees of The Cigna Group volunteer regularly for nonprofits that support military veterans and their families, including, but not limited to, the Veterans Community Project, Habitat for Humanity, and Soldiers’ Angels. Over the course of 500 volunteer hours, teams built and repaired houses, provided landscaping and painting assistance, delivered furniture, and created no-sew blankets for homeless veterans.

Community Vitality Project

By combining fun, fitness, and fundraising, The Cigna Group employees helped determine how to allocate a collective $25,000 donation among three nonprofits: the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, and The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. The project kicked off with donations from The Cigna Group to multiple Connecticut-based Boys & Girls Clubs to purchase new bicycles and helmets for the state's youth.
